Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation

In our work among the poor, we often find that addicts in this layer of society usually have little to no access to assistance in overcoming their addictions. They live and die in darkness, isolated, desolate, and forlorn. Broken and dysfunctional families are an accepted fact of life as a result of these addictions, be it to alcohol, tobacco or drugs. They have no way out. The solutions available to them, if any, are unworkable and impractical. We couldn’t stand by and watch them just wither away.

We start by meeting them where they’re at. Then, we encourage them and motivate them to understand that their life does not need to be the way it is. We give them hope and help them take small achievable steps towards recovery. We stand by them at every stage of the process, encouraging them along the way.

Our rehabilitation program gives all our beneficiaries an opportunity to achieve freedom at no cost to them. Our programs are designed not only to guide them towards sobriety, but also impart to them the skills that they need to continually walk in their newly found freedom. Our commitment to them is life-long and they can always access us for guidance and support.

Rihaee Camp

The Father's House conducted a 14-day drug and alcohol de-addiction camp from 25th April 2023 to 06th May 2023 at Virar West, Maharashtra. The camp is included in one of the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Twenty people suffering from Drug and Alcohol addiction attended the camp.

A typical day at the camp included these three elements:

Spiritual - We helped them to accept that there is a higher power above them and that they should submit to God who is the supreme authority.

Emotional - Regular counseling sessions with each patient were conducted to understand their strengths and weaknesses in fighting addictions.

Physical - The patients were given nutritious and healthy food throughout the camp. Every evening the patients enjoyed doing games and activities to relax and unwind.

Most of the campers were transferred to a Rehab Center to continue their treatment while some of them are now staying at the TFH Daycare and Night Shelter.

We are happy to say that one of the beneficiaries has successfully got a job in the Housekeeping department at Hyatt Hotel and is now winning the battle against addiction!
